STAMFORD -- If you are the Westhill High School boys ice hockey team, the 2015 Division III state tournament bracket is a vision of beauty.

On the list of 16 teams, there is only Staples Co-op and the Danbury Co-op as representatives from the mighty FCIAC.

For the eight seniors on the Westhill roster, there is the real dream of closing out their high school hockey careers leaving a legacy that will live on.

The Vikings took their first step toward the 2015 Division III championship final Monday night as they conquered No. 14 seed Hall-Southington, 6-0 in the friendly confines of Terry Conners ice rink.

"Most of the seniors have played for me for four years. They want to leave a legacy," said Westhill veteran coach John Santagata. "We all can taste it. One win done. Three more victories to go. It's all about getting to Yale's Ingalls Rink (site of the Div. III final)."

It will be neutral site battles the rest of the way for No. 3 seed Westhill (12-8-1). The Vikings will face No. 11 seed Tri-Town in Thursday's quarterfinals at a neutral site and time to be determined. Tri-Town (10-10-1) ousted No. 6 seed Housatonic-Northwestern-Wamogo, 3-2 Monday.
